Inaugural HBCU Female Presidents' Weekend
Curated by The Whole Woman & Sponsored by Diageo
ABOUT THE WEEKEND
The Whole Woman (TWW) is an international women’s organization dedicated to providing education and healthcare services.
TWW offers unique retreats designed to relieve stress, create safe environments, and build a sense of community among women facing similar challenges. These retreats aim to provide a supportive network where women can unwind, recharge, and feel understood amidst social and political pressures.
TWW's retreats are intimate, typically accommodating fewer than 50 participants to ensure privacy and foster a trusting environment. These gatherings offer a space where women can share experiences, receive support, and engage in activities promoting well-being.
Last year, Diageo contracted TWW to curate a specialized retreat for African American female presidents of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Held at a golf resort in New Jersey, this three-day event featured wellness experts from various disciplines, addressing the unique challenges faced by this distinguished group of educators.
The event included sessions with wellness experts who provided strategies for stress management and personal well-being. The response was overwhelmingly positive, as reflected in enthusiastic testimonials from the participants. One significant success story from the retreat was the collaboration with Ft. Valley State University to address their student housing shortage. This was facilitated through TWW's affiliation with Cobblestone Development, known for their $270 million student housing project at Tennessee State University.
The Whole Woman's inaugural retreat for Black female presidents of HBCUs, sponsored by Diageo, was a resounding success. It not only provided a much-needed respite and support for the participants but also led to meaningful solutions for challenges faced by their institutions. TWW remains committed to creating impactful, supportive environments for women through its well-curated retreats and other educational and healthcare services.
